What is Rights of Light Insurance?
A Rights of Light Insurance Policy (sometimes referred to as Rights to Light) offers protection to builders, developers etc. from the possible risk of a claim in the future resulting from infringements of rights of light.

Substantial damages could be awarded or even an injunction to prevent a development if someones right to light has been infringed. The costs of damages awarded / compensation can be significant and has been known to be up to 30% of the developer / builders profit.

An injunction however may lead to the complete stop to the project or the removal / demolition of the offending part of the development, which could even be after the development is occupied.
